FAQs for Students

How will this work?

Once the form has been filled out , we will match you with a university student who has signed up to tutor for free. You will probably have a different tutor for each subject you choose. They will then get in contact with you and can organise a time to call and help out.

How can I communicate with my tutor?

You can either simply email back and forth or use the Bramble room we have created for the tutoring. Bramble is a platform a bit like Google Hangouts, where you have your own "room". In the room you can speak with video, draw, add pictures/text and solve whatever problem you have together.

Can I communicate with my tutor on WhatsApp/Facebook/etc?

No. Unfortunately, it’s a safeguarding requirement that you only communicate via email and your Bramble.io room.

Can I get signed up by a parent or guardian?

Sure! Teachers, social workers, and parents or guardians are able to sign students up.

Are there any cool tools I can use for the tutoring?

Of course! 😉We’ve partnered with bramble.io for a cool tutoring experience and you can also use Adapt to rate your confidence on different parts of your subject and will be able to share this with your tutor at the start of each lesson. You can also use Adapt to indicate what you need to study next. We’ll introduce both tools in emails after you sign up.

Is tutoring available for students in Scotland?

Yup! In the form above there is an option to choose between English and Scottish qualifications. We will try our best to match Scottish students with tutors who either sat Scottish qualifications or who understand the differences between them and English qualifications.
