Celebrate Your Tutor!
Our Commitment to Equality
The Coronavirus Tutoring Initiative is committed to promoting equality and diversity in education, and we recognise that to do so we need to create a diverse and inclusive working environment within CTI so that all staff, tutors and students feel valued and respected. We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome tutors and staff applicants from people of all races, ethnicities, abilities and backgrounds, gender identities and sexual orientations. CTI is committed to equality and to creating a safe environment for our tutors, students and staff. We have a zero-tolerance policy for all forms of discrimination and bigotry. Racism is an entirely unacceptable part of our society and it has no place in education. All incidents of racism and discrimination should be immediately reported to our support team, [email protected] and/or our safeguarding team, [email protected], and a formal investigation will be launched.
Furthermore, we recognise that for too long British history, culture and education have been whitewashed, and the contributions of people of colour across all sectors of society have been marginalised and discredited. We believe that as an educational initiative, we have an obligation to be part of the change we badly need to see in education in this country. We support diversifying and decolonising the curriculum, to ensure that the education students receive is not just diverse and representative, but also accurate. We stand with Black Lives Matter and other movements trying to move this country to a better and more equal place. We hope to use our platform as a positive and inclusive space for people of all races and ethnicities, and to amplify the voices of initiatives fighting to make a change.
We hope to offer support to people of all ethnicities and races; if you have any ideas, concerns or discussion points you wish to raise, please contact [email protected] or [email protected].
